Overview
Origin Laboratory is the opening region of Fatal Claw and the place where Kisha wakes with no memory. The local content pack identifies this area through a life support device, sealed doors, and the first route out into the wider underground kingdom. In practical terms, it is the game’s onboarding space: you learn how Kisha moves, how the Claw reaches, how healing resources behave, and how early barriers communicate that the map is not meant to be solved in one pass.
The atmosphere should be read as controlled but broken. This is not a cozy village entrance or an open wilderness tutorial. It is a laboratory tied to the ancient Elord Kingdom, the Stones of Records, and a resurrection premise that the game only gradually explains. The region’s job in the route is to make the player comfortable with uncertainty. You can open some doors immediately, mark others for later, and start building the habit of checking Carox markers before assuming a path is complete.
Because Origin Laboratory sits before the broader ability chain, it is also the best place to notice Fatal Claw’s resource rules. Healing uses blue orbs that refill through attacking enemies or drinking tea, not simply by resting. That distinction matters from the first rooms onward. If you leave the lab after winning by trading damage, the next regions will feel harsher than they need to be.
How to Reach
Origin Laboratory is the starting point. There is no previous region requirement, no late ability gate, and no optional route needed to enter it on a fresh file. Kisha begins here as part of the story setup, then pushes outward as doors, locks, and early enemies teach the basic cadence.
The ability threshold is therefore minimal: use the base Claw, movement, jump spacing, and the earliest tutorial prompts the game gives you. Blink and later movement tools become relevant for cleanup, but they are not needed to understand the first path through the area. Treat every sealed door as information. Some doors are tutorial locks, some are route hints, and some are return markers for a later ability or switch state.
If you are returning from later regions, enter with a more deliberate checklist. Confirm whether Carox has pinned unexplored rooms, whether any old sealed door reacts to new traversal, and whether the route has changed after story progress. Origin Laboratory is first in order, but in a Metroidvania it remains useful after the first exit.

- Mirkam Boss Guide - Review Mirkam after the first region if you are tracking early progression toward restored village power.

Saitin is the key page for this region. The source pack does not publish a full arena map, so the safest route advice is to prepare fundamentals rather than memorize invented patterns. Enter with healing available, test Claw recovery, and avoid spending Blink or movement options before a real commitment is visible.
Ability Gates
Origin Laboratory’s most important gates are conceptual. Learn that not every barrier is a mistake, and that some route blockers exist to be revisited after the wider ability system opens. Early sealed doors can point toward future Blink checks, switch logic, or movement options unlocked outside the lab.
The core tools to watch are Claw, Heal, and Blink. Claw teaches attack commitment. Heal teaches the blue-orb economy. Blink teaches that repositioning can solve both combat and traversal problems, but only if timed with intent. Later tools such as Lyani’s Claws, wall climb, glide, air dash, and Silver Chain may make old corners worth another pass.
Collectibles & Secrets
Use Origin Laboratory as your baseline for collectible discipline. The content pack confirms heart pieces, mana pieces, healing pieces, Carox room pins, and memory fragments in later cycles, but it does not give a coordinate list for this region. That means a good first pass is about room coverage and annotation rather than claiming a fixed 100 percent path.
Check dead ends after each new door state. Revisit vertical shafts after gaining more movement. Watch for rooms that look empty on the first pass but become readable once Carox has mapped them. If you are in a later cycle, remember that memory fragments can replace previously collected heart or mana pieces after the epilogue, so old pickup locations may still matter.
Region Order
Origin Laboratory is route step 1 in this wiki’s eight-region progression set.
- Previous: none. This is Kisha’s starting region.
- Next: Lower Moss Cave for the first major natural biome and water-related route pressure.
Leave only after you understand the lab’s basic lessons: do not panic heal, do not assume sealed means broken, and do not spend every attack window on a full Claw string. Those habits carry directly into Moss Cave, Strigine Quarry, and the first real backtracking loop.
